Safer Sphere has been appointed to the CHIC Consultancy Framework 2026–2030, strengthening our ability to support housing providers with specialist Principal Designer and building safety services across the UK. Our appointment is under Lot 12:  Principal Designer Duties, covering both Principal Designer (Building Safety Act/Building Regulations) and Principal Designer (CDM) services.

CHIC’s Consultancy Framework provides social landlords with a compliant and efficient route to specialist professional services across the lifecycle of their homes and assets. The four-year framework includes 13 specialist lots and brings together consultancy expertise covering everything from feasibility and design through to compliance, project delivery and long-term asset management.

Supporting Principal Designer duties

Under Lot 12, CHIC members can access specialist support to help meet their building safety and regulatory responsibilities throughout design and construction.

CHIC describes Lot 12 as providing specialist support around Principal Designer duties, risk management and Building Regulations compliance throughout design and construction.

Safer Sphere has been appointed across both Principal Designer workstreams:

Principal Designer (Building Safety Act)
Supporting clients and project teams in managing Principal Designer duties under the Building Regulations, coordinating design compliance and helping teams demonstrate that regulatory requirements have been considered and managed throughout the project.

Principal Designer (CDM)
Supporting clients, designers and project teams in meeting their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015, with a focus on effective design risk management, coordination and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Supporting the housing sector

The appointment builds on Safer Sphere’s growing portfolio of public sector and housing framework appointments and provides another route for housing providers to access our Construction Safety and Building Safety expertise.

Our approach is straightforward: helping teams understand their responsibilities, identify issues early and turn complex regulatory requirements into practical actions.
