Safer Sphere is delighted to share that our client, Donald Insall Associates, received the prestigious ‘Re-use of a Georgian Building’ award for The Camellia House project at The Georgian Group Awards ceremony last night. We are proud to have provided Client CDM Assurance to the Wentworth Woodhouse Trust and Principal Designer support to Donald Insall Associates throughout this transformative journey.
This award follows previous recognition for The Camellia House, including a regional RICS award in the Refurbishment/Revitalisation category earlier this year. In addition, Historic England removed The Camellia House from its Heritage at Risk Register 2023, confirming its successful preservation.
Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic England, and other contributors, the project has transformed the once-derelict Camellia House into a vibrant tea room. This revitalized space now hosts various community activities, including the monthly Memory Café, which offers a welcoming environment for individuals living with dementia or memory loss to explore local history and culture.
This achievement is part of our ongoing commitment to the restoration of the Wentworth Woodhouse estate, a project with deep historical significance and community impact. We are thrilled to see the positive influence of this revitalized heritage site.
Congratulations to Donald Insall Associates and the entire project team for their dedication and exceptional accomplishment. We look forward to our continued partnership in bringing the beauty and heritage of Wentworth Woodhouse back to life.
