At Safer Sphere, we are excited to announce our partnership with the PDA Society, a charity dedicated to raising awareness and supporting individuals with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). Last Sunday, our team rode 25 miles from Liverpool to Chester to kickstart our fundraising efforts. We invite you to join us in spreading awareness and contributing to our GoFundMe campaign.
What is PDA?
PDA, which stands for Pathological Demand Avoidance, is a term used to describe a specific profile within the autism spectrum. People with PDA experience an extreme fear response when faced with demands or expectations. It goes beyond a simple unwillingness to do something; it is an overwhelming feeling of being unable to comply, even with activities they genuinely desire. Their perception of demands as threats to their autonomy can hinder their ability to perform basic tasks like eating or drinking when experiencing bodily urges.
Raising Awareness and Funds!
To support the PDA Society, we have launched a GoFundMe page where you can contribute to this vital cause. The funds raised will help the PDA Society continue raising awareness, providing resources, and supporting individuals with PDAs and their families. By participating in our bike ride and donating to the campaign, you can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by this condition.
