Today, a couple of our team members from Safer Sphere volunteered on a project in Little Hulton; Iona Fazer and Karl Tindale joined local primary school pupils from Year 6 to help them build a new community centre using a prefabricated ‘WikiHouse’.
Safer Sphere is proud to provide health and safety support to Architecture Unknown Ltd as part of this regeneration project series. It’s fantastic to be involved in creating safe and sustainable environments for community projects.
The construction of the community centre isn’t just a building project but a hands-on learning experience for the students. Working with prefabricated materials, the young participants engaged directly in construction, gaining valuable skills and insights. This initiative highlighted the importance of community involvement in creating sustainable and meaningful change.
One of the primary goals of this project series is to enhance a local green space, creating a sustainable, low-carbon indoor area that will benefit the community for years to come. By revitalising this valuable space, the project provides a safe and welcoming environment for residents to gather, learn, and grow.
Thank you to Charlie Butterwick and Architecture Unknown Ltd for the invitation to participate and for providing an opportunity to serve as positive role models for disadvantaged youth.
