Safer Sphere Appointed by National Museums Liverpool

Safer Sphere is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership with the PDA Society until 2024, continuing the success of our collaborative efforts. Last year’s initiative positively impacted 83 families through the PDA free enquiry line. During the Big Give Winter Appeal, our pledge donation was transformed into over £11,000 of additional matched funding and individual contributions, enabling support for 278 families.

Safer Sphere has a strong history of supporting various charities, but our connection to the PDA Society is particularly personal and significant. Mike Forsyth, Chairman of Safer Sphere, shared, “I know first-hand how misunderstood PDA is. Life for my child and others with PDA is much harder than it needs to be, mainly because hardly anyone knows about it or what helps. As a parent, I see the difference I can make to my child’s well-being by changing my approach, and I want other families to benefit from this information and support, too. The team at Safer Sphere has been incredibly supportive, and we’re excited to see how much more we can raise for this important cause.”

Through our marketing assistant Iona’s comedy gig, our consultant Jillian’s boxing match, and the team bike ride, we collectively fundraised a significant amount for the PDA Society, showcasing our shared commitment and success in supporting this vital cause. Additionally, our support in helping to develop their Health & Safety procedures was invaluable. We even provided entertainment at their online Christmas party, with Iona performing her stand-up comedy set!

The new phase of our charity partnership launches today, 20th May, and will continue to focus on improving the lives of PDA individuals and their families.

Angelique Forsyth, Director of Human & Legal Resources, added, “As parents, we have seen how employing simple strategies to reduce demands and reframe necessary demands with less confrontational language has helped our child become less anxious and better able to enjoy everyday life. The PDA Society is a wonderful resource for PDA individuals, their families, and those working with them. They raise awareness and understanding of PDA and help train people in the strategies that make a difference. We are over the moon to support them again this year.”
