Safer Sphere Joins The 5% Club
Safer Sphere has joined The 5% Club, reinforcing our long term commitment to developing people, strengthening competence, and supporting sustainable careers across the built environment.
The 5% Club is an industry led initiative that focuses on increasing access to apprenticeships, graduate roles, T Level placements and sponsored study programmes. Its purpose is to promote practical earn and learn routes that help people build real skills and meaningful careers.
The initiative brings together more than 1,000 employers across the UK, from SMEs to FTSE organisations, and spans sectors including engineering, transport and financial services. Member organisations commit to working towards having at least 5 percent of their workforce enrolled in formal learning programmes within five years. Progress is reported publicly through Annual Reports, supporting transparency and accountability.
Members can also work towards Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum status through an annual Employer Audit, recognising continued investment in people development and skills led practice.
Joining the 5% Club is an exciting milestone for Safer Sphere. It reinforces our CARE values by investing in competence, ambition, relationships and excellence, while nurturing future talent and supporting our people to grow, learn and succeed

Why this matters to Safer Sphere
At Safer Sphere, competence underpins everything we do. Our work in construction safety and building safety relies on knowledgeable, capable people who understand regulation, risk and the realities of live projects. Developing future professionals is therefore essential to the quality, consistency and reliability of our service.
We actively support apprentices, graduates and early career professionals through structured learning, mentoring and hands on project experience. This approach helps build confidence, accountability and sound professional judgement from the outset, ensuring learning translates into real world capability.
Joining The 5% Club reflects our belief that investing in people strengthens delivery for our clients, supports a more resilient industry, and contributes to safer outcomes for those who live, work and use the buildings we help to shape.
Lewis Duff, Managing Director at Safer Sphere, said:
“Competence is central to building safety and effective risk management. By investing in practical learning routes and early career development, we are strengthening our teams today while helping to build a more capable and resilient industry for the future.”
“We are pleased to welcome Safer Sphere into membership. The 5% Club brings together organisations that are committed to developing a skilled workforce through earn and learn opportunities. Our members share insight, learn from each other, and support people to build meaningful and sustainable careers.”
