Safer Sphere appointed on remedial bridge works

Safer Sphere is pleased to reveal our appointment on the remedial works on the WGIS Bridge. We are supporting the project in the roles of Principal Designer Advisor to Rossendale Group and CDM Client Advisor to Peel Land and Property through RIBA stages 5 and 6.

The works involve the installation of a remedial solution to the lifting mechanism to allow for tension to be kept on the ropes and also to stop the counterweights twisting with a set of rollers being installed.

We are delighted to reveal that we have been shortlisted for ‘Small Business of the Year’ at this year’s Pride of St Helens Business Awards. The awards are a celebration of local businesses, and we are thrilled to have made it the final of such a competitive category. Safer Sphere was lucky enough to take home the award last year so this year we are defending the title and keeping our fingers crossed that we can do it again.

The Pride of St Helens Business Awards takes place at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Thursday 7th November.

Safer Sphere appointed on Tower Works Scheme

Safer Sphere is delighted to reveal that we have been appointed on the new Tower Works PRS scheme in Leeds. This new build project will see the construction of 245 apartments set within the distinctive waterside development. One major aim of the project is to combine the iconic buildings of the area with the new neighbourhood to offer ‘landmark living’. Safer Sphere is acting as CDM Client Advisors to Richardson and Ask Real Estate on the development which starts on site next month.

Safer Sphere continues growth plan with new hire

Safer Sphere have appointed a new Principal CDM Consultant to expand their operation at their Reading office.  The business has had significant growth in the past year with the latest team member being the third senior hire in just 6 months.

Nick Williams formerly of Kellogg Brown & Root, Rider Levett Bucknall, and TPS Schal (a Carillion Group company), will assist Associate Director Richard Procter with the business’s expansion plans in the Southern region and will be delivering services on new projects and commissions already secured in the area.

Nick has a wealth of experience in Construction Health and Safety advising on projects such as Aspire Defence and King Fahd International Stadium, Saudi Arabia.

Nick said, “I am really excited to be joining Safer Sphere as they are a leader in Health and Safety. They are national safety award winners and are working on some really exciting projects, some of which are based in the southern regions.  I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to business and helping achieve growth in the area.”

Safer Sphere appointed on I’m a celeb leisure attraction

We reported 2 months ago that we were involved in the new ITV leisure attraction at the Lowry Outlet. We are delighted to now reveal that the project is the first ‘I’m A Celebrity Jungle Challenge’ attraction. Safer Sphere has been supporting the project in the role of CDM Client Advisors to Peel Land & Property and Principal Designer Advisors to Artez Ltd through RIBA stages 1 – 4.

ITV has today confirmed a new multi-million pound entertainment attraction, celebrating TV blockbuster I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will open at The Lowry’s brand new The Watergardens development at MediaCityUK.

The I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will open later next year as an epic 2500 square metre indoor entertainment feature in Manchester, featuring the iconic Base Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock in the ultimate jungle encounter.

The action-packed family entertainment centre promises to take camp mates into the heart of the jungle where you’ll need to navigate a series of obstacles and challenges. Face your fears, test your nerve and agility and venture into the jungle canopy, collecting stars as you go to be crowned king or queen of the jungle!

Today’s announcement is the next exciting chapter in ITV’s expanding portfolio of live events, tours and attractions, which includes Coronation Street The Tour, Emmerdale Village Tour, Emmerdale Studio Experience and the more recently announced, ITV Daytime Studios Tour at Television Centre in London.

Work to transform the space into the thrilling jungle experience is expected to start early 2020 and will open later in the year. Visitors can expect a 90minute action packed challenge through jungle ziplines, parachute drops and vertical climbing walls; the perfect day out for all the family!

Safer Sphere appointed on Proxima Park

Safer Sphere is pleased to announce our appointment on the Phase 1 development at Proxima Park in Hampshire. The project sees the construction of 2 new warehouse buildings divided into 13 separate units with offices. Other work includes the construction of a parking area, access roads and drainage installations. Safer Sphere is acting as Principal Designer Advisors to UMC Architects and CDM Client Advisor to the client on the project. The development is due to be completed later this year.

Safer Sphere appointed on First Panettoni project

Safer Sphere is pleased to be part of the First Panettoni project in Basildon. The development includes demolition works of the existing buildings and slab and the construction of a new steel portal framed building. The construction takes place on the former Kongsberg Plant site and Safer Sphere is supporting the development in the role of Principal Designer Advisor to UMC Architects through RIBA stages 1-4.
APS Awards, National Safety Awards, Allan Briscoe, Member of the Year

Safer Sphere consultant wins National Safety Award

Safer Sphere Senior CDM Consultant, Allan Briscoe has won the coveted ‘Member of the Year’ award at the National Association for Project Safety (APS) awards. Allan has been with the Construction (Design and Management) specialists for over 3 years and the Senior Consultant is not only an expert in Health and Safety but is also a qualified, experienced Architect of more than 30 years.

The award recognises someone who not only goes above and beyond in their day job but celebrates the positive impact that person has had on the industry. The award also demonstrates outstanding leadership in design and construction health and safety risk management.

Other criteria for the award included charity support, in which Allan developed architectural plans for a new maternity hospital in a deprived area of Rwanda for the Shyira Trust, a small Formby-based charity.

Allan Briscoe, Senior CDM Consultant said “I am delighted to take home the award for APS Member of the Year. There were 9 safety professionals shortlisted, so take home the award is a real honour, especially as the APS is an industry recognised association.”

We are delighted to share our appointment on a refurbishment project at 20 Old Bailey in London. The project will see the fit-out and associated works to part of the 5th floor of the building to provide serviced office accommodation and facilities. We are pleased to be supporting Consensus Workspace Ltd on the project providing Principal Designer Advisor support and contactor support.
